SIA L2 Door Supervisor - 5 day course - 2015

Under the Private Security Industry Authority Act 2001, all individuals wishing to work in the private security industry must undertake a recognised qualification before applying for a licence.

The HABC Level 2 Award in Door Supervision has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications and provides the necessary skills and knowledge for learners who wish to apply for an SIA licence and work as a Door Supervisor within the private security industry.

The qualification comprises 4 mandatory units:

  • Unit 1 – Working within the Private Security Industry
  • Unit 2 - Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry
  • Unit 3 - Conflict Management within the Private Security Industry
  • Unit 4 - Physical Intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry

This accredited qualification can enable the learner to progress onto the NVQ in Providing Security Services or undertake further learning in other areas of the private security industry such as CCTV operations or security guarding. 

HABC Level 2 Upskilling Award for Door Supervisors - 2 Day Course - THIS IS BEING UPDATED FROM 1st JAN 2015

This qualification has been developed to meet the mandatory top-up requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) for learners who undertook their qualification prior to the Door Supervision qualifications and who need to renew their licence. Anyone who did their qualification before June 2010 will need to do this course to renew their licence.

It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications and provides the learner with the necessary knowledge and understanding to renew their SIA licence and work as a door supervisor within the private security industry.

Entry Requirements
This qualification is suitable for door supervisors who undertook their qualification prior to the QCF Door Supervision qualifications and who need to renew their licence.

Qualification Structure
This qualification is made up of two mandatory units.

  • Unit 1. Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry, which covers knowledge and practical skills
  • Unit 2. Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors, which covers knowledge of counter-terrorism issues, first-aid awareness and requirements in dealing with children and young people.

Learners must successfully complete the assessments for the units to achieve the qualification.
